The Story of Ron Leonard

This journey began in 2012 as I was freshly released from state prison. I moved in with my mother who at the time lived next door to Palms Middle School where my little brother attended while living in the area for a while. I met a gentleman by the name Steve Pierce. This man quickly became a mentor to me as I was in search of a new path for my life. He took me under his wing as he was the Plant Manager of the School. He told me about this building and grounds class for LAUSD which I attended at Gardena Adult School and I had the honor to meet the instructor, Clarence Gloss in 2012. Years later I just now took the rest of the Plant Manager classes at Abram Friedman Occupational Center. In doing so I just passed the custodian test for Los Angeles Community College District

I want to thank Mr. Gloss Mr. Hernandez, the Asst. Principal and special thanks to Ms. Roberson In D.O.R Department for pushing me and not giving up on students like me. Now, I have a start date to work at LACCD in January 2025. I would like to thank everyone who helped me get here.
