Our manicuring program has started a new term. Let me introduce you to one of our new manicuring students: Paris Anthony

During COVID, while still in high school, Paris Anthony started experimenting with painting nails, since she’s always loved art, she immediately saw a connection between the two. After high school, she began studying dance at Santa Monica City College, but her mom pushed her to look for a second career.  "I had been looking at nail schools but the tuition is very high. And my mom discovered AFOC and it’s free. The classes are free! So I thought I’d try it."

She decided to give it a shot and signed up. "I never felt interested in learning. Only being here a couple of days I am more eager to learn than I have ever been on. I’m finding a career path that I want to expand."

Paris has big ambitions. "My goal is to be able to do more intricate things with nails. And really take nail art to a different level. I would like to have my own business and have my own clients."

Paris will take two manicuring classes at AFOC, manicuring 1 and 2. Immediately after the program, she'll apply to the state to take the manicuring exam. Once she passes, she's licensed to work legally in the US.
